How is this mod extracted?

It's not a mod. It's an extension.

Is it the avatarresize folder uploaded to ext. directory? I tried that, but nothing is happening.

Installing Extensions
The principle is: boardroot/ext/author/extension name
so assuming the author_name = Ger and the extension_name = avatarresize

>>> your board/ext/Ger/avataresize
